FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Marc Fulmer Appointed Deputy Executive Director of Pilgrim

Fulmer Will Oversee Operations of Ugandan NGO From U.S. Base in Seattle

Seattle, WA, USA - October 14, 2009

Marc Fulmer has been named Deputy Executive Director of Development and Operations for Pilgrim, a Ugandan-based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with programs in public health, education, agriculture, malaria eradication and orphan care. The U.S. headquarters of Pilgrim is Seattle, Wash.

As deputy executive director, Fulmer is in charge of overseeing fundraising projects, medical relief, food drives, and all other projects that Pilgrim undertakes, including the organization's highly successful Move On Malaria program. The program is responsible for the virtual eradication of malaria in a district in Uganda, and it is being expanded to other regions of that country.

Prior to taking on his current duties at Pilgrim, Fulmer was the Chief Operations Officer with Seattle-based Agathos Foundation. While with the Agathos Foundation, Fulmer oversaw program growth from $400,000 in 2006 to over $30 million in 2009 - mostly through the expansion of gifts-in-kind through the Agathos Food Relief Program and the Agathos Medical Relief Program. These programs are dedicated to relieving some of the most distressed areas in Africa including Kenya, South Africa, Southern Sudan, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

These programs will continue to operate as part of Pilgrim. "Agathos programs are being absorbed into Pilgrim and I am still responsible for them," said Fulmer. "We have hired someone to replace me running the Agathos programs and he works under my supervision. So I am now in charge of development and operations for a merger of Pilgrim and Agathos operations under the name of Pilgrim."

Fulmer is a native of Yakima, Wash. Before he began his mission work, Fulmer was an entrepreneur in the construction industry, entering into the business when he was only 16 years old. He and his wife have four adult children and one granddaughter. The Fulmers are active members of Damascus Road Church in Marysville, Wash.

About Pilgrim: Pilgrim is a Christian aid, relief, and development organization operating primarily in Uganda, with U.S. headquarters in Seattle. Pilgrim provides disaster relief as well as ongoing aid and development assistance to widows, orphans, and others in Uganda.
