Indirect Cost (F&A) Policy

Pilgrim Africa reimburses indirect costs, also described as facilities and administrative (F&A) costs, at a rate not exceeding 6 percent of total direct costs on awards to universities and research institutions. The rate is applied to total direct costs and not to a modified base; personnel, travel, equipment, and consumables are reimbursed as direct costs.

The rate applies uniformly to academic partners. Limiting indirect recovery directs a greater proportion of each award to field operations, study sites, and Ugandan personnel.

The rate does not apply where an award is funded in whole or in part by United States federal funds, in which case Pilgrim Africa accepts the partner’s federally negotiated rate as required by 2 CFR 200.414, or where a donor’s terms of award specify a different treatment.

Donor Privacy Policy

We are committed to the privacy of our donors.

Pilgrim Africa will not rent, sell, trade, or share the personal information of our donors with any other entity, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations. This policy applies to confidential information we receive through all channels of communication, ranging from online to in-person transactions. Use of donor information will be limited to the internal purposes of Pilgrim Africa and only to further the mission of Pilgrim Africa.
